The Crossfit Open is the largest online CrossFit competition and the start of the road to the 2018 Crossfit Games. The Open consists of 5 workouts over 5 weeks from February 22 – March 26th.

The Open is for EVERYONE! Even if you have no desire to compete or are brand new to Crossfit – EVERYONE is able to participate in these weekly workouts. It’s an opportunity for you to gain an appreciation for your strengths, weaknesses and mental toughness.

There are scaled options for each workout.

“The intent of the scaled workouts is to allow everyone who wants to compete, to compete at an appropriate level. Choosing the scaled version of the workout one week will not prevent an athlete from doing the next workout as prescribed. Those athletes who choose to do all five Open workouts scaled will be visible on the Scaled Leaderboard, where they can compete with their peers.”

The scaled workouts are not for anyone who’s fighting to advance to the next stage of the CrossFit Games season.

We encourage anyone and everyone to SIGN up and participate in the Open. Have fun with the workouts and enjoy the community aspect of Crossfit.

We want everyone – whether or not you are participating in the Open – to come out and cheer on others each Saturday as they complete each workout. The more energy and excitement in the crowd the better!  Those who are interested in helping to judge please take the online judges course here

Wondering if you should participate?  Why should you NOT participate in the Open?  This will be my fifth season participating and here’s some reasons I think you should too!

Think you’re not “good enough.”  There is no “I’m not good enough.”  Even if you can’t do the RX weight of most of the Open workouts now,  you WILL surprise yourself with what you’re able to do.  Trust me!  More than likely you are physically stronger than your mind leads you to believe.  Don’t let your mind get in the way of what your body can do.

Participating in the Open will give you so much appreciation for those fire-breathing Games athletes.  You will have the opportunity to do the same exact workouts during the same week as THE BEST CrossFitters in the world.

It’s FUN!!  Join up with your community, your team, and go into battle TOGETHER on Saturdays!   Even if you don’t register, come and support your team!

Lastly, step outside your comfort zone.  Get comfortable being uncomfortable!  You’re already doing things that you probably never thought you would be, so take another big step.  SIGN UP!
